Rob C. Tonogbanua is an associate of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. He concentrates his practice in the areas of Immigration and Nationality Law, U.S. Citizenship, and Deportation Defense. Mr. Tonogbanua also focuses his practice in the areas of Asbestos/Silicosis and Environmental Litigation with a particular emphasis on Toxic Tort Law. Mr. Tonogbanua has diverse experience representing corporations, recruiting agencies, and individuals and their families with various immigration services including H-1B/H-2B visas, employment-based permanent residence, adjustment of status applications, family-based petitions, applications for U.S. citizenship, and deportation issues. On the toxic tort side, he has successfully represented numerous manufacturers, suppliers, and outside contractors who have been involved in multi-million dollar asbestos/environmental lawsuits in several jurisdictions over the years. Mr. Tonogbanua is a member of the Camden County, New Jersey State, and American Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice before the Superior Court of New Jersey and United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He is also a member of Sigma Xi, The National Scientific Research Society. Prior to joining the firm in 2006, Mr. Tonogbanua served as an associate with a regional defense firm in Westmont, New Jersey, for nine years. Mr. Tonogbanua graduated cum laude from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1991 with a B.S. in Biology. He undertook graduate study at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 1991 to 1992 where he studied the basic life sciences curriculum. He received his J.D. from the Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1996 where he was a member of the Asian-American Law Students Association. Mr. Tonogbanua recently co-authored an article with shareholder John T. Pion entitled "Twenty-First Century Challenges Facing the Trucking Industry: Pitfalls of Tackling Driver Shortage Through Recruitment Efforts Abroad" which was recently published in In Transit, 2008, the e-newsletter of The Defense Research Institute. Mr. Tonogbanua is also a freelance contributor to The Legal Intelligencer, focusing on Immigration and Nationality Law. Mr. Tonogbanua was born in Manila, Philippines, on April 18, 1969. He came to the United States as a young child with his mother and father, a young physician at the time, and grew up in San Francisco, California; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and New Castle, Delaware. Mr. Tonogbanua became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1987 and is fluent in Tagalog, his native Filipino dialect. |
