Richard A. Nelson serves on Dix & Eaton’s Board of Directors and Leadership Committee and is a senior member of the firm’s Investor Relations practice. With more than 25 years of broad and multifaceted corporate finance and business experience, he provides counsel on a wide range of strategic corporate and investor relations issues, including the capital markets, the IPO process, shareholder activism, policies and procedures, public disclosure requirements, securities regulations and legal issues, investment message development, financial communications programs and materials, crisis communications and investor relations tools/service providers.
Before joining Dix & Eaton in 1995, Mr. Nelson was director of investor relations for GenCorp Inc. (formerly The General Tire & Rubber Company), a $1.7 billion diversified manufacturing company based in Akron, Ohio. In that role, he was responsible for building and maintaining all investment community contacts and relationships; planning, developing, implementing and monitoring all corporate investor relations policies, procedures and programs; guiding development of all financial communications and disclosures; and advising senior management on the investment community impact of corporate tactical and strategic plans.
Earlier, Mr. Nelson gained 10 years of progressive corporate experience in finance and investment management with GenCorp’s Washington, D.C.-based corporate finance and pension investment operation. He also has two years of corporate marketing experience for a $1 billion leisure and entertainment industry company based in Miami, Florida.
Mr. Nelson holds an MBA with concentrations in finance and international business, with honors, from The George Washington University and a BA in business administration, summa cum laude, from The University of Michigan. He has been an active member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) since 1990. |
