Rick joined The Brenner Group in January 1998, and has focused his consulting practice on early to mid-stage technology firms. During his 30 years of management experience, he has held full-time CFO positions with four start-up firms. At The Brenner Group, Rick has engaged with over 30 early-stage client firms as their CFO or in a financial advisory role. Rick works with client firms on executive staff level financial management, financial reporting to boards of directors, business planning, raising venture and debt capital, facilities, business infrastructure, business systems and risk management. He has assisted client firms in raising nearly $100 million in venture and debt financing. Before joining The Brenner Group, Rick served as CFO of Versant Corporation (NASDAQ:VSNT), a venture-backed software firm. He contributed to substantial improvements in its financial condition and managed its 1996 IPO and emergence as a publicly reporting company. Prior to that, he was CFO and acting CEO of InfoSpan Corporation, Minneapolis; CFO and VP Corporate Operations of Cadre Technologies, Inc., Providence, RI; and CFO of Sarama Industries, Inc. Philadelphia, PA. Rick also held a number of positions at General Electric Company including Corporate Traveling Auditor, Controller, Contracts Manager, and Corporate Consolidations. Rick earned a B.A. degree from Arizona State University, and graduated from GE's prestigious three-year Financial Management Program. |
