Richard Lehmann joined SBER in July 2002 as project executive with responsibility for managing projects in the greater northeast. Before joining SBER, he worked as an independent consultant, providing construction services to The Rouse Company and Nike, Inc. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Lehmann was director of development for Nike Retail, Europe, headquartered in The Netherlands. While there, he worked throughout Europe, developing Niketowns in London and Berlin, as well as 27 factory stores. After three years, he and his family moved to Baltimore. Prior to moving to Europe, Mr. Lehmann was managing director at Bennis & Reissman, a construction management firm, where he developed the flagship Niketown New York store. Before that, he was director of construction at The Adco Group, a private development firm, and vice president of Chemical Bank, responsible for Wholesale Facilities in midtown Manhattan. His first job in Manhattan was as project manager for Turner construction. Mr. Lehmann began his career in the real estate industry in San Francisco, where he owned a small construction company. Mr. Lehmann holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Oregon State University and a Master s in political science from the University of California at Berkley, with a specialization in Middle Eastern studies. He also served as a member of the Board of the University Settlement Society of New York from 1988 to 1996 and has been assisting the Baltimore School for the Arts with their Capital Program. He has volunteered and served in many community organizations throughout his career. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War. |
