Richard Gonzalez became CEO of Southwest General Hospital in April, 2003.Before joining Southwest General Hospital, Gonzalez was Chief Financial Officer Prior to that position, he served as Chief Operating Officer for San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, a 321-bed facility in Houston. He has 30 years experience in healthcare management, which includes being part of a team that opened Humana Del Pedgregal, a 200-bed hospital in Mexico City. He spent three years at Humana Del Pedgregal Hospital.alez has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Finance from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Business Administration Health Care Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969-1973.
