Dr. Goldberg joined SemEquip in November of 2006. For the previous six years he was with Applied Materials, Implant Division, Horsham, U.K. His most recent responsibility was as head of the Beamline Technology Group, which was responsible for all beamline related aspects of new product development along with continuous improvement and support of the installed base of ion implanters. Prior to joining AMAT, Dr. Goldberg held combined teaching and research positions at The University of Western Ontario from 1993-1998. During this tenure, he conducted research into ion beam induced damage of semiconductor materials using a combination of methods including positron annihilation spectroscopy and was heavily involved in the development of techniques for producing optoelectronic devices using ion beams to intermix quantum well structures. In early 1998 he accepted a position as TCS Research Associate within The Joule Laboratory at the University of Salford. While working in the United Kingdom, Dr. Goldberg ran studies covering a range of topics including ion beam interactions with semiconductor materials and the development of novel ion sources for industrial applications. Dr. Goldberg has a first class BSc.(Hons.) degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne and has published more than 90 scientific papers, authored over a dozen patents and has delivered presentations at numerous international conferences and institutions. |
