Richard Garcia is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, ION Media Networks. Mr. Garcia joined the company as Controller in September 2003 where he supervised financial reporting and accounting.
Prior to joining ION, Mr. Garcia served as Senior Director, Controller for DirecTV Latin America, LLC, where he was responsible for overseeing the financial reporting process and the development and administration of internal control policies and procedures for the various subsidiaries comprising the multi-national service entity with headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and operations throughout most of Latin America.
From 1998 to 2002, Mr. Garcia was Vice President-Chief Accounting Officer and Controller at Claxson Interactive Group, Inc. where he supervised financial reporting and the finance and accounting departments for the Miami-based company and significant operations in Argentina, Chile and the United States. Mr. Garcia also worked at Deloitte & Touche from 1989 to 1998 as Senior Manager where his client base included multi-national organizations, governmental enterprises and various other companies.
Mr. Garcia began his professional career at Spanish Cable Network, Inc. as Controller. He graduated from Florida International University in Miami, Florida with a B.A. degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
