Mr. Smith founded the firm in 1983 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. As Chairman of the firm’s Investment Committee, he oversees the investment advisory services provided by the firm’s three professional practices. Recognized nationally as a leader in the investment advisory industry, Mr. Smith is a frequent lecturer at industry meetings and has provided continuing education programs for the Virginia Law Foundation, the Financial Planning Association, the Center for Fiduciary Studies and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Smith holds an MBA from the Terry School at the University of Georgia and a BBA from Lenoir-Rhyne College. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional, a Certified Investment Management Analyst® and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst®. Mr. Smith is rated a 5-Star Adviser by the Paladin Registry. |
