Richard T. Gieryn serves as corporate secretary and general counsel of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited. He oversees all legal matters for AXIS Capital and its subsidiaries. Mr. Gieryn has over 24 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to being named General Counsel of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited in April 2006, he had been the chief legal counsel for AXIS’ global underwriting and claims operations. He joined AXIS in 2003 after serving as General Counsel and Secretary of Aon’s Combined Specialty Group. Mr. Gieryn also formerly held general counsel positions at ACE INA, ACE USA and Westchester Specialty Group. He began his career at the law firm of Drew, Eckl & Farnham, LLP, in Atlanta, where he became an equity partner. During his 11 years as a litigator in private practice, he tried civil cases in state and federal courts and represented a broad array of corporate clients. |
