Rick is a partner in the business law department and focuses his practice on private equity, mezzanine finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate matters. He co-chairs the private equity and mezzanine finance practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Rick worked for VNU Business Information Services, Inc. in Alexandria, Va., and in New York.
Rick regularly represents equity sponsors, mezzanine investors and other participants in complex buyout, recapitalization and financing transactions. Rick also represents the strategic investing groups at two leading money-center banks in connection with a variety of their transactions. Rick also represents other companies on a variety of strategic, financing, and corporate matters.
He has extensive experience in transactions involving companies in many industries, including telecommunications, health care, financial services, technology, manufacturing, distribution, media, retail, and services.
Representative Matters
Represented lead equity sponsors in connection with the acquisition of a national group of insurance companies and the subsequent initial public offering for that company.
Represented growth equity investor in connection with its investment in the preferred equity of an owner and operator of oil and gas drilling barges.
Represented mezzanine debt client in connection with the acquisition financing of an operator of specialty movie theaters in the United States and Canada.
