Dr. Hassett has served as a director of the Company since May 2006. Dr. Hassett was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer in November 2005 after serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategic Officer with the Company since November 2004. Previously, Dr. Hassett held executive positions with Accordant Health Services, a leading healthcare services and technology company providing disease management programs for 15 specialty and complex disease states, from 1997 to 2000, last serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Hassett also served as a member of the Accordant Board of Directors. During Dr. Hassett's tenure, Accordant enhanced its position as a leading healthcare services and technology company.
Following his association with Accordant, Dr. Hassett served as President and Chief Executive Officer and Board member of Vivra Asthma & Allergy, Inc., a specialty disease, clinical trial and practice management company built on the largest national group practice for asthma and allergy specialists, and as Chief Executive Officer and Board member of Coordinated Care Solutions, a provider of state-of-the-art medical care management services to more than 2.6 million covered lives. Dr. Hassett began his career in full-time academics at Temple University School of Medicine, followed by ten years in group practice.
Dr. Hassett earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Cornell University in 1977 and a Doctor of Medicine from State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1981. |
