Richard J. Nicholas
Mr. Nicholas is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of UIL Holdings, Inc. (UIL) and The United Illuminating Company (UI).
Mr. Nicholas joined UIL Holdings in 2001 as Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of United Capital Investments, Inc. In addition, he became Vice President Corporate Development and Administration for UIL Holdings in 2002. He was appointed CFO for UI in 2002 and CFO for UIL in 2005.
Prior to joining UIL Holdings in 2001, he was employed at Southern New England Telecommunications Corporation for 23 years, in a variety of leadership positions in regulatory affairs and public policy as well as finance, accounting and business development in both regulated and unregulated entities.
He is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and earned a bachelor’s degree in business and administration, with a concentration in finance, from the Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Mr. Nicholas also earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of New Haven in Connecticut. |
