Richard J. Bliss is a member of the Corporate Law Practice Group in the Milwaukee office and Managing Partner of the firm. With numerous private and publicly held businesses among his regular clients, Rick concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, executive compensation, corporate governance and business planning. Rick has represented buyers and sellers in transactions ranging up to $1 billion in size and involving a wide range of industries, including specialty chemicals, medical technology, communications and publishing, automotive parts and components, industrial supplies and general manufacturing. In addition, he regularly provides counsel on corporate governance matters and counsel regarding succession planning in family businesses, along with general business advice. Rick also serves on the Board of Directors of several charitable foundations and numerous community organizations.
Rick received his undergraduate education in economics at Wheaton College in 1973 and was awarded his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he was a Note and Comment Editor of the Wisconsin Law Review. He is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Bar Association.
