Mr. Evans' business acumen stems from a varied and highly successful career that includes many notable accomplishments. Prior to forming Evans Holdings in 1998, he served as president and CEO of Huizenga Sports and Entertainment Group (private) and concurrently as president & COO of Florida Panthers Holdings (NYSE) (now Boca Resorts). The Huizenga Sports & Entertainment Group consisted of The Miami Dolphins, The Florida Marlins (1997 World Champions), Pro Player Stadium, and interest in Homestead Motor Sports Complex and an interest in Leisure Management International (arena and stadium management company).
Mr. Evans began his business career with the Walt Disney Company and was one of the first people to move to Orlando, Florida where he was involved with the planning, construction and pre-opening development of Walt Disney World. Subsequent to opening, he was responsible for the operation of the Resort Hotels and Recreation Division.
Under his direction as chairman, president and CEO of Radio City Music Hall Productions from 1980 to 1986, the New York entertainment landmark became profitable for the first time in 30 years as a result of a strategic plan that included development of five new business segments.
In 1986 Evans left Radio City Music Hall Productions to join the Madison Square Garden Corporation as president and CEO overseeing operations which included: National Basketball Association’s New York Knicks; National Hockey League’s New York Rangers; MSG TV Network; MSG Radio Network; MSG Entertainment; Miss Universe, Inc.; SRO Pace; MSG Center; MSG Concessions and MSG International.
During his tenure Madison Square Garden Corporation revenues tripled; a $200 million renovation of the Garden facilities was conceived and completed on time and on budget; MSG Television Network grew from 1.7 to 4.5 million subscribers. Mr. Evans received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Denver in 1996, and is currently a member of the World President’s Organization (WPO) and the Chief Executives Organization (CEO). |
