Richard (Rick) Reidy is President of DataDirect Technologies, a software vendor that software organizations and corporate IT departments look to for superior standards-based data connectivity technology.
Reidy brings significant business and technical leadership experience to DataDirect Technologies and - together with a team of seasoned executives - focuses on providing the best overall customer experience and even greater data connectivity products, innovation and inventiveness to software developers worldwide.
Reidy joined Progress Software in 1985 as one of the original developers of the company's flagship database product, the Progress RDBMS. He has held numerous technical and management positions and served a number of years as vice president of product development for the company's existing and new product lines. Reidy also served a two-year stint in Europe where he helped build Progress Software's network of distributors in central, eastern and southern Europe as well as the Middle East.
Prior to joining Progress Software, Reidy held database systems software developer and architect positions at Computervision Corporation and Telesis Systems. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Boston University.
