Mr. Canote joined Kémia as Vice President of Finance in April, 2004. He has over 24 years of experience, 15 of which are in the life sciences industry. Mr. Canote was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for GeneOhm Sciences, where he closed the company's first financing and was responsible for overseeing the growth of the company from one to fifteen employees, prior to the hiring of the Company's first CEO. Prior to GeneOhm, Mr. Canote was the Chief Financial Officer of Cytovia, Inc. where he had a significant role in fundraising, establishing over $50 million in corporate partnerships, and completing the sale of the company to Maxim Pharmaceuticals in June 2000. He previously spent ten years as a certified public accountant in public practice in Los Angeles and Newport Beach. Mr. Canote earned a B.S. degree in accounting from San Diego State University. |
