Rip has extensive experience in transactions involving all facets of the entertainment industry from motion pictures, television, music, book publishing, and character licensing to a variety of digital, new media and Internet applications. He has represented individual artists and established production companies, networks, financiers and distributors. He works closely with clients in the planning stages of rights acquisition, and follows through to development, production and distribution. In addition to a broad transactional and project based entertainment practice, Rip also negotiates executive employment agreements including agreements for on air talent and producers of network and cable news programming. Before joining the firm, Rip was a senior counsel at Columbia Pictures where his specialties included music publishing, film financing and international motion picture and television distribution.

Rip received an A.B. from Cornell University with Distinction, a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, and he became a member of the New York State Bar in 1986. Rip is a member of the Stellar Network and The Recording Academy (New York Chapter).
