Senior Vice President and General Manager, Networked Storage Business Units Rich Clifton is the vice president and general manager of the Networked Storage Business Units. Clifton has played a pivotal role in managing relationships with strategic software partners, enterprise applications, and database solutions since his arrival at Network Appliance in 1999. the Networked Storage Business Units include aligning and driving products, sales, services, and partnerships with NetApp to leverage market opportunities in primary storage (NAS and SAN) As part of this role, Clifton is heavily involved with strategic partnerships and alliances. Clifton previously was the vice president and General manger of the Enterprise Data Center and Applications Business Marketing at NetApp, where he forged and managed business and technical relationships with strategic partners in the areas of database, applications and fabric-attached storage. Before joining NetApp, Clifton was vice president of Database and Application Competence at Data General from 1992 to 1999, where he was named a Data General fellow. Clifton also served in a variety of engineering and management-level positions with Control Data from 1978 to 1992, including director of the Silicon Valley Development division. Clifton has a bachelor of science degree in computer science and business administration from Indiana University. |
