Born in Naples, Italy, on 26 August 1960.
Mr. Ruggiero has served as the CEO of Telecom Italia S.p.A. since 2002.
He began his career in 1986 as Sales Manager at Fininvest S.p.A.
Between 1988 and 1990 he worked as Sales and Marketing Manager for AT&T Italia.
He joined the Olivetti Group as assistant to the CEO in 1990. He remained with the Group until 1995, during which time he covered a number of positions. In 1992, he became Vice President of International Customers and Telecommunications Sales Development worldwide for the Oliservice Organization; in 1994, he was appointed Vice President of Olivetti Telemedia Sales and Marketing Development.
In 1996, he was appointed CEO of Infostrada - with responsibility for Market, Infrastructure and Human Resources - before taking over the same position at Italia On Line.
In July 2001, Mr. Ruggiero joined the Telecom Italia Group as Head of the Telecom France Business Unit.
In October 2001, Mr. Ruggiero was appointed CEO of the Telecom Italia Group Domestic Wireline Business Unit. In May 2002, he became General Manager of Telecom Italia S.p.A. |
