Rene Marion is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Company. He has been associated with Barrick Gold Corporation of Canada for more than fourteen years and was appointed as Barrick's Regional Vice President Russia and Central Asia in 2005. His background combines twenty one years of experience in mining operations operational management and mine engineering in North America with acquisition evaluations feasibility studies development and mergers all over the world.
Prior to his appointment in Russia he held various senior posts in Barrick's corporate headquarters in Toronto Canada including Vice President Technical Services. He joined Highland Gold in December 2006. At the time of his resignation to join Gammon he was also seconded as Chief Operating Officer of Highland Gold Mining Limited a publicly traded strategic partner of Barrick Gold. Mr. Marion holds a BSc Degree in Mining Engineering from Queens University. |
