Raymond Torto is CB Richard Ellis' Global Chief Economist. Dr. Torto, one of commercial real estate's most renown economists and forecasters, directs CBRE’s worldwide team of commercial real estate market analysts and serves as the firm’s primary spokesperson on macro economic issues and the global commercial real estate market. Dr. Torto is a founding principal of Torto Wheaton Research (TWR) whose career spans the business, public and academic sectors. Dr. Torto began his career in the state and local governments of Massachusetts, successfully performing in various policy and line management positions. After gaining valued experience in the public sector, he built on his knowledge and expertise though the academic world, where he served as the Professor of Economics and Director of a Public Policy Institute for University of Massachusetts for 25 years.
