Ray Gonzalez is the Chief Operating Officer of Bay4 Capital, LLC. Ray has more than seventeen years experience in all facets of operations and financial management.
From 1997 to the summer of 2001, Ray was the CEO, President and CFO of OccuLogix Corporation, a development stage medical device company that is pioneering a new treatment for Age-related Macular Degeneration. Ray joined OccuLogix in 1997 as the Vice-President of Operations and was promoted to the CEO/President/CFO position in 1999. In this role, Ray restructured the company, raised a round of capital and operated an FDA clinical trial to achieve data for product approval. Ray was directly responsible for strategic planning, financial planning, budgeting, financial reporting and operations.
From 1996 to 1997, as Acting-CFO for Bobby Grace Golf Design, Ray negotiated and closed a sale of the company to Cobra Golf, a subsidiary of American Brands. In these eight months, Ray developed a strategic marketing plan for the brand, worked with KPMG to complete an audit of the company’s financial reports, renegotiated key vendor agreements and negotiated the purchase of the company.
From 1992 to 1996, Ray held various executive management positions with GSP, a printing and fulfillment company for over 10,000 convenience stores across the country. Ray joined GSP as the General Manager in 1992 when the company generated $2 million in sales with 30 employees. Ray was promoted to President and CFO in 1995. During his leadership, GSP grew to $11.5 million in revenue produced by 180 employees in an around the clock manufacturing and distribution environment. The growth of the company was internally financed. Ray was responsible for all business activities of the company.
Ray began his professional career in 1984 with Arthur Andersen & Co. During his years with Arthur Andersen & Co and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), Ray specialized in re-engineering business processes to improve financial performance. His most significant clients included Tropicana Products, Florida Power Corporation, General Mills Restaurants (Red Lobster), IBM, Johnson & Johnson (Vistakon and Critikon) and The Walt Disney Company.
Ray received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA from the University of Florida. |
