Ray is a seasoned purchasing expert with a performance history of achieving positive results. He contributed to the development and growth of his personnel, improvements in supplier quality performance, reductions in purchase costs, and the positive growth of global purchasing operations. Professional Experience This BBK Senior Director has more than 41 years of automotive experience. He recently served on the Board of Directors of an automotive supplier (with sales of over a billion dollars) and is on the Advisory Board of a leading minority supplier. As Vice President of Purchasing for Delphi, he managed worldwide purchasing for an organization with more than $15 Billion in annual purchases. As a member of the Delphi Strategy Board, he reported directly to the CEO and was involved in leading overall management of the Company. During that time period Ray was responsible for more than 1000 employees; he met all cost savings budgets, achieved substantial supplier quality improvements and expanded the global supplier network. Prior to Delphi, he had spent many years serving GM in executive purchasing positions. As Director of Purchasing for the newly formed Chevrolet-Pontiac-Canada Group, he led the integration of five GM divisional purchasing departments into one. This effort resulted in substantial improvements to productivity and performance. In 1983 he was appointed Plant Manager of the Oshawa Car Assembly Plant. Prior to that, Ray was Director of Purchasing for GM of Canada. During that time he founded the auto industrys first Supplier Council; it was designed to strengthen communications between buyers and sellers. |
