Ray Oleson has served as Chairman of the board of directors since he founded SI International in October 1998. He also served as Chief Executive Officer until September 24, 2005. Under Mr. Oleson’s leadership, SI International has become a premier information technology and network solutions (IT) company with revenues of approximately $262 million for fiscal year 2004. In November 2002, the Company successfully completed its initial public offering. SI International defines, designs, builds, deploys, and operates mission-critical IT solutions primarily for the Federal Government. The Company delivers solutions quickly often in a matter of months. Combining its technology and industry expertise, SI International delivers a full spectrum of state-of-the-practice systems and services with a strategic focus on Federal IT Modernization, Defense Transformation, Homeland Defense, and Mission-Critical Outsourcing.
In August of 1990, Mr. Oleson was named President and COO of CACI, Inc. and was tasked to lead a major strategic restructuring to focus on the growing information technology markets in both government and commercial sectors. Under his leadership, CACI became a world leader in advanced technology solutions, delivering high user-value systems and services through enterprise process redesign; systems reengineering; software reuse and development; imaging and document management; electronic commerce; systems integration; and, simulation. Through innovations such as the CACI Advanced Technology Center, CACI is known as an information technology solutions leader. CACI, Inc.’s annual revenues for fiscal year 1996 (ending June 30, 1996) were $220 million. In 1996, Mr. Oleson retired from CACI after delivering 21 straight quarters of increasing revenues and profits. From fiscal years 1992 through 1996, CACI, Inc.’s revenues increased 83% and profits increased 210%.
Mr. Oleson joined CACI in November 1987 and was appointed President of its Systems Development and Implementation Division. Mr. Oleson’s division was responsible for managing CACI’s extensive business in automated document management, automated driver’s license and vehicle registration systems and software development contracts for the Department of Defense.
In 1984, Mr. Oleson joined Systems and Applied Sciences Corporation (SASC) as Corporate Vice President of Marketing, with a mandate to transform the company from the less competitive 8a marketplace to the competitive world of post-8a government services. In January, 1985, after establishing the policies, procedures, marketing staff, and disciplines necessary to win over $100 million dollars of competitive business, Mr. Oleson was promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Oleson was appointed President of SASC in 1986.
From 1977 to 1984, Mr. Oleson was Vice President at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) and was responsible for all Defense Systems Division systems integration business. His organization’s major objective was the delivery of turnkey data processing systems within domestic and international markets.
Mr. Oleson, a Director at Sperry-Univac from 1966-1977, was responsible for systems engineering, marketing, proposal and program management of all Army and Air Force programs within the Defense Systems Division. He held various technical and managerial positions and was eventually promoted to Director of all software engineering.
Mr. Oleson is a graduate of Mankato State University and Villanova University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (1966) and a Master of Science in Applied Statistics (1970). |
