Randall E. Curran joined Deltacom in February 2005 as chief executive officer. He previously served as chairman and chief executive officer of ICG Communications, Inc., a competitive telecommunications company, from September 2000 until December 2003. Prior to joining ICG Communications, Curran served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of Thermadyne Holdings Corporation, a global manufacturer of welding and cutting products. During 2004, Curran was engaged in management consulting with both FTI Consulting and his own firm. Additionally, he served with Thermadyne and its predecessor companies since 1981 in various positions including chief operating officer and senior vice president-chief financial officer. Early in his career, he worked at Cooper Industries and Arthur Andersen. Curran received a bachelor of arts in economics from DePauw University and a master of business administration from Loyola University in Chicago.
