L. Randolph Harris is a partner of Cooper White & Cooper LLP and is chair of the Tax Practice group. His practice emphasizes integrated tax planning and business transactions. Randy has extensive experience regarding business organization, development, management and operations as well as taxable and tax free mergers and acquisitions. His practices includes tax planning for individuals, partnerships and corporations. Mr. Harris advises clients on all aspects of estate and gift tax planning including business transition planning utilizing family limited partnerships and limited liability companies. Randy also counsels nonprofit and tax exempt entities regarding formation, qualification and operation. Mr. Harris is an active member of the California State Bar and the Alameda County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Tax Court, The U.S. Court of Claims and the California state courts. Mr. Harris has authored materials for the California Continuing Education of the Bar, published in the tax, legal and business fields and has lectured on tax and business matters for the California Continuing Education of the Bar, the National Business Institute and national trade groups. Mr. Harris received his J. D. degree from Gonzaga University and his LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University in 1980. He is admitted to practice in California and Washington. Mr. Harris was attorney advisor to Special Trial Judge Murray Falk and Judge Sheldon Ekman of the United States Tax Court. Upon moving to California in 1981 he practiced law with McInerney & Dillon in Oakland, California becoming a partner in 1986. Mr. Harris was a founding partner of Harris & Harris PC, a law firm specializing in business transactions and tax planning before joining Cooper, White & Cooper LLP. |
