Randy was born in Brigham City, Utah and has lived in Utah throughout his professional career. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University in 1980 where he served as student body Vice President. In 1983, he received his law degree (Juris Doctorate) from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California and was admitted to practice law in the State of Utah.
Mr. Holmgren is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and the federal and state courts in Utah. He is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys (Money magazine’s recommended source for estate planning attorneys). Randy is also a member of the Utah State Bar Estate Planning Section and the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council. He recently served on a committee to assist the Utah State Legislature revise Utah's trust laws. Mr. Holmgren currently serves as a member of the Development Advisory Committee for Community Nursing Services and on the Planned Gifts Committee of the Primary Children’s Medical Center Foundation.
Randy has presented hundreds of lectures, seminars and workshops on estate planning and asset protection. He has been a frequent presenter at colleges, universities, conventions, financial institutions and church and social groups.
Randy and his wife, Julie, are the parents of five children. They are active in church and community events and causes.
