Ralf Meurer is President of Genworth Financial’s international Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) operations where he is focused on further growing the business's $2.2 billion of sales and high returns.
Prior to his current role Ralf served as Chief Financial Officer for Genworth’s European operations. He has more than 20 years' of international financial services experience gained from a number of key finance and operating roles in GE businesses across Europe.
He joined GE Commercial Equipment Finance Frankfurt in 1986 as Controller for its German business before moving in to the role of Finance Manager Central Europe in 1990. In 1992 Ralf joined GE Vendor Equipment Finance London as Credit & Operations Manager. During his two-year tenure he led the development and implementation of financial platforms for GE Medical which resulted in a significant positive impact on its sales in Germany and Switzerland. Between 1994 and 1997 Ralf was Finance & Credit Manager Central Europe for GE Fleet Business. In 1997 he took up the position of Finance Director for GE Consumer Finance where he led the acquisition integration to form GE Capital Bank in Vienna.
He was appointed Chief Financial Officer for the Payment Protection Insurance business of Genworth in 2002 where under his stewardship additional financial platforms were created to support expansion of the business to include Poland Czech Republic Hungary Greece and Mexico.
Ralf studied economics at Giessen and graduated with a Diplom Betriebswirt in 1986. He is based in London UK. |
