Ragnar Olson manages the Chemical Practice within Ocean Tomo’s Corporate Finance Group and is head of analytics for the Auctions Business. Mr. Olson’s experience and analysis is particularly focused on Organic and Inorganic Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Energy, Life Sciences, and Biotechnology.
Prior to joining Ocean Tomo, Mr. Olson gained valuable hands-on experience in the Chemistry field, working professionally as a Chemist for Baxter Healthcare, Stepan Company and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Through this cumulative experience Mr. Olson has worked with a wide variety of chemical substances, including pharmaceutical compounds, soap complexes and controlled substances, among others.
Mr. Olson’s work with the Drug Enforcement Administration offered him invaluable educational experience both for the application of his scientific expertise, as well as for his pursuits in the legal field. While a Chemist with the DEA, Mr. Olson was called upon to testify, in Federal Court, on the results of (his) laboratory findings multiple times; he further applied his knowledge of chemistry and contributed to the efforts of the intelligence community through work as a Law Clerk with the agency.
Mr. Olson holds a degree in Chemistry, with a minor in Economics, from the University of Indiana; he holds a JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law, as well as a certificate in Intellectual Property.
Mr. Olson is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is licensed to practice law within the state of Illinois. Mr. Olson is a member of the American Chemical Society and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. |
