Al Walker serves as Senior Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation one of the world’s largest independent oil and natural gas exploration and production companies. He joined Anadarko in September 2005 and is responsible for Accounting Financial Reporting and Tax; Treasury Corporate Finance Risk Management and Communications; Corporate Development; Corporate Planning; and Corporate Audit.
Prior to joining Anadarko he served as Managing Director for the Global Energy Group of UBS Investment Bank. Previously he was President and CFO of 3TEC Energy Corporation until its merger with Plains Exploration and Production Company. He joined 3TEC after holding a variety of merchant banking positions of increasing responsibility at Prudential Capital Group where he was Senior Managing Director and Co-head at the time of his departure. Earlier in his career Mr. Walker worked in commercial banking and for an independent oil and gas company.
Mr. Walker holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tulsa. He is currently on the Board of Trustees for the United Way of Greater Houston and the Houston Museum of Natural Science serving as its treasurer for 2007. He and his wife Stephanie have two children.
