Phillip B. Lassiter, 63, was elected to the Diebold board of directors in 1995. He served as chairman & CEO of Ambac Financial Group, New York, a financial guarantee insurance holding company from 1991 until his retirement in 2004. He continues to serve on the Ambac board after stepping down as non-executive Chairman in August 2006.
Before Ambac, Lassiter spent 22 years at Citicorp, where he was the group executive in charge of North American Investment banking and insurance activities and a member of the policy committee.
Lassiter served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and received a degree in Chemical Engineering from N.C. State University in 1964. In addition, he graduated from the PMD program at Harvard Business School in 1973. |
