Philip M. Drake is a graduate of Yale University and the University of Virginia Law School. Prior to attending Yale, he served for three years in the Navy during World War II. He began his career at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York in 1951. In 1953, Phil was appointed Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. He joined Cummings & Lockwood in 1955 and served as Managing Partner of the firm from 1978 through 1987. Since returning to the full-time practice of law, Phil has focused his practice in the firm's Private Clients Group. Phil is a former member of the Putnam Trust Company Board of Directors, a former Trustee of the Greenwich Hospital and the Charles E. Culpeper Foundation, and an Honorary Trustee of the University of Virginia Law School Foundation. He has been active in Town of Greenwich affairs for many years, having served as chairman of the Board of Estimate and Taxation, two Charter Revision Commissions and other related activities. He is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, the American Bar Foundation, and the Connecticut Bar Foundation. |
