Phil Quigley was elected Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Telesis on April 1, 1994. Following the merger with SBC Communications in April of 1997, he assumed the additional responsibility of Vice-Chairman. He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Bell, Chief Operating Officer of PacTel Corporation and CEO of PacTel Personal Communications (cellular and paging).
Quigley began his telecommunications career in 1967 with Pacific Bell Directory. He spent five years with AT&T's New York operations prior to divestiture. Mr. Quigley retired in December of 1997 after 30 years of telecommunications involvement to pursue venture capital advisory and investment interests.
Quigley serves as director of Wells Fargo & Company, Nuance Communications, Sienna Holdings, Thomas Weisel Partnership (Advisor) and SRI International. He has served as Chairman of the California Chamber of Commerce, California Business Roundtable and on the United Way Board of the Bay Area.
A native of San Francisco, Quigley earned a Bachelor of Science in business from California State University in Los Angeles. |
