Peter Levitt serves as General Manager for Walker Forest. This is his third start-up since graduating from Business School. Peter heads up operations and manages the Finance &Technology practice.
Raised in Canada, he studied Performing Arts (University of Waterloo) as an undergraduate. After freelancing in Vancouver BC for a year, he quickly learned that the arts, while wonderful, was not his true calling.
After graduate school, Peter lived and worked in Washington, DC. There he helped to start a collection agency, servicing such companies as BankAmerica, Firestone and Sprint. He moved back to Canada and worked for Canadian Bonded Credits, Canada's largest privately held collection agency. Promoted 4 times in 3 years, his last position was as the Assistant Manager for the company's largest office. In 1991, Peter and his wife moved back to the United States. During this transition, they spent six months in Asia, traveling through Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Bali, Hong Kong, and China. It was a humbling lesson for him learning that "our way was not the only way."In 1992, Peter opened the West Coast office for a collection agency in Sacramento. In 18 months he grew that business from 0 to 30 employees, $2M to $60M in annual billings, and was one of the top offices for such clients as BankAmerica, Chase, MBNA, Harris Trust, and Firestone.Longing to own his own business, Peter started Sales Consultants of King of Prussia.
Since opening, the business has averaged 35% growth each year. In 2000, the business grew by 90%. Recently, the company upgraded its technology infrastructure to accommodate this compounding growth. When asked what his greatest accomplishment had been to date in business, Peter replied: "In 1998, we were one of four finalists, out of 350 offices, for 'Best In Class' quality of service. While we are not the biggest office, it means to me that our clients value what we do for them, their careers and their people." In 2000, Peter decided that due to the growth of the business and the direction he wanted to see the firm move into, it was time to change the name and focus, hence Walker Forest.
In 1986, Peter earned his Advanced Diploma in Marketing/Computers from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Peter is a Dale Carnegie and Sandler Sales Training graduate. |
