Dr. Peter Bauschatz is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater LLP, based in its Munich office. He is a member of the Tax Department.
As a licensed tax specialist (Fachanwalt für Steuerrecht), his practice focuses on taxation of (family owned) groups, tax structuring of (cross-border) mergers, acquisitions and private equity transactions as well as on estate planning.
Peter attended the University of Bayreuth and the University of Konstanz. In 2000, he took his Ph.D. at the University of Augsburg and in the same year, he obtained his M.B.L.-HSG from the University of St. Gallen. Prior to joining the Firm, Peter was a partner of GSK Gassner Stockmann & Kollegen.

Structuring of several venture capital investments in start-up companies in the medical technology and biotech industry
Restructuring of a family group of companies, formation of a limited partnership on shares as a family holding company
Advising a leading retail group on the formation of cross-border fiscal units
Structuring of an insolvency plan for a group heading company to use loss carry-forwards
Representation in the German Supreme Tax Court regarding the termination of a VAT fiscal unit after the appointment of an temporary insolvency administrator
Estate planning of midcap family owned companies by implementing charitable foundations
Peter published numerous articles on tax and corporate law, in particular on choice of business transactions and is a lecturer at the University of Augsburg.He is a co-author of Korn, Einkommensteuergesetz, Gosch, KStG, and Carlé, Die Betriebsaufspaltung.
