Peter Murphy represents companies, municipal bodies and individuals in proceedings before state and federal courts, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings. His broad business litigation experience includes defending against employment discrimination claims, shareholder litigation and product and premise liability claims. He also has significant experience representing individuals and organizations in investigations by state and federal agencies, as well as in subsequent prosecutions in state and federal courts.
Mr. Murphy is an adjunct professor for the first year Moot Court class at the University of Connecticut School of Law, and has been appointed to the Criminal Justice Act panel for the United States District Court in Connecticut. Prior to joining Shipman & Goodwin, Mr. Murphy served as a law clerk to the Honorable Flemming L. Norcott, Jr., of the Connecticut Supreme Court, and to the Honorable Christopher F. Droney of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
