Peter Cohen has been the President and Chief Operating Officer of Educate, Inc., which owns institutional and consumer pre-kindergarten-12th grade education businesses including Sylvan Learning Centers, Catapult Learning, eSylvan, and Schulerhilfe since the company was formed in June 2003.
Mr. Cohen joined Sylvan Learning Systems, the predecessor to Educate, Inc., as the President of Sylvan Learning Centers in 1996. In 2000 he was promoted to President of Sylvan Learning Systems, Inc. and was responsible for its K-12 and franchised divisions.
Mr. Cohen has an extensive background in multi-unit management and franchising. Prior to joining Educate, Inc., he served for three years as chief executive officer of The Pet Practice, Inc., a national chain of branded pet hospitals. Mr. Cohen previously held senior management operations and marketing roles in several large consumer retail chains, including 7-Eleven Stores, Circle K, and NutriSystem. |
