Pete Thrane assists insurance businesses handle the legal and regulatory dimensions of their business. He chairs Leonard, Street and Deinard’s Insurance, Risk Financing and Financial Services practice group. Pete handles insurance transactions, formation of insurers, dissolution of insurers, reinsurance, product distribution mechanisms, product development and compliance matters.
Pete also has extensive experience in advocating insurance matters before state legislatures and administrative agencies. He frequently appears before the Minnesota Legislature, the Minnesota Department of Commerce and other agencies. He has assisted insurers with many Minnesota regulatory issues, such as holding company act filings, solvency investigations, enforcement matters and product filings.
Prior to joining Leonard, Street and Deinard, Pete was an officer of St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company, where his assignments included serving as Group Counsel to the Specialty Commercial insurance group, leading a group of attorneys and other professionals in providing counsel to St. Paul’s niche markets.
Pete has been named among The Best Lawyers in America in the area of insurance law.
