Professional Experience
Mr. Masaitis` practice focuses primarily on complex litigation matters. Over the past eight years, Mr. Masaitis has handled large-scale consumer class actions, intellectual property disputes, unfair business practice claims and mass toxic tort claims for clients in a variety of fields, including telecommunications, aerospace and automotive.
He is experienced in all areas of litigation in both state and federal court, from discovery and law and motion practice through trial.
Mr. Masaitis` recent experience includes the following:
Defense verdict for major wireless carrier after a four week jury trial on a contractor`s claims of breach of contract, fraud, and discrimination. Plaintiff sought over $6MM in damages for claims arising out of site acquisition, architectural and engineering and construction services related to network expansion.
Defended class action alleging unfair business practices and false advertising against major petroleum company for its marketing of dual-branded motor oils in what was the first known challenge of multiple branding as an unfair trade practice.
Defended major aerospace client in a multi-party community toxic tort action, working the plaintiff pool down from several hundred to 27 to position the client for favorable pre-trial settlement.
Representation of clients, as plaintiffs and defendants, in disputes involving various breach of contract, misappropriation of trade secret, fraud and business tort claims.
