Peter Blenkinsop joined the firm in 1999 as a policy analyst. Peter became an associate in 2006. His practice focuses on food and drug law, information management and privacy, and international regulatory compliance. Peter also assists in the management of several special-purpose industry consortia.
As a member of the life sciences and pharmaceutical practices, Peter has assisted clients in addressing a range of policy issues related to medical product R&D and sales and marketing. Many of these projects have involved the development and implementation of legislative, regulatory, and media strategies, and they have related to a diverse range of matters, including biosecurity, human subject protections, drug product approvals and drug labeling/advertising. Peter has represented clients before health and environment regulators in the United States and European Union and at international treaty negotiations under the Montreal and Kyoto Protocols.
Peter also advises companies on compliance issues raised by HIPAA, COPPA, the CAN-SPAM Act, the Junk Fax Prevention Act, and other federal, state and international privacy laws. Peter assists clients in identifying privacy risks and developing information management strategies. Peter has drafted contractual agreements concerning data uses and privacy, developed privacy policies and operating procedures and drafted privacy notices and consents.
In General. Peter received his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in February 2006 and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He is a former associate editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. Peter received his bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Yale University, where he graduated with distinction both in economics and in East Asian studies and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society. |
