Ms. Hunt joined the Firm after completing judicial clerkships for appellate and trial courts, and practicing law in an international law firm. Ms. Hunt’s clerkships with the United States Bankruptcy Appellate Panel of the Tenth Circuit and the Connecticut Supreme Court have given her extensive and varied appellate experience, and her practice currently includes counseling clients in appellate matters. Additionally, Ms. Hunt counsels clients on all types of commercial litigation, with emphasis on bankruptcy, reorganization and debtor/creditor matters. Ms. Hunt has represented USA Commercial Mortgage Company, CF&I Steel, American West Airlines and IDI Global, Inc. as Chapter 11 debtors; the Chapter 11 trustee in the Cajun Electric Power Cooperative case; the pilots in the TWA Chapter 11 case; and various other debtors, creditors, committees, and equity holders in both large and small bankruptcy-related matters. She has also represented creditors in receiverships, and currently, she represents the court-appointed receiver in an enforcement action commenced by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. Hunt has written and lectured extensively on bankruptcy matters, she currently serves as a Contributing Author for COLLIER BANKRUPTCY PRACTICE GUIDE, and she provides Bankruptcy Expert Commentary for LexisNexis. She has served as Chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the Utah State Bar, and on the Board of Trustees for the Utah Bankruptcy Lawyer’s Forum, Inc. Ms. Hunt has been named as one of The Best Lawyers in America in Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Law, and has also been voted by her peers throughout the state as one of Utah's "Legal Elite" in the categories of Bankruptcy/Creditor Rights Law and Corporate Law (as published in Utah Business Magazine). In 1996, she was honored by the Utah State Bar as Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year for her service and for her work on numerous committees formed to address access to justice issues in Utah. |
