Mr. Painter has earned a living in software since 1978, when he financed his college education as a software developer. After college, his professional career began with a focus on development of large, distributed CAD systems for microelectronics at MCC in Austin, Texas from early 1984 until May, 1995. At MCC, Mr. Painter started as an individual contributor and in 1986, he became a Lab Director in charge of a research-and-development team.Beginning in 1995, Mr. Painter has served in four technology start-up companies in Austin as either Director or Vice President of Development. These start-ups included TradeWave, Inc.; DrKoop.com; PointServe (formerly Epicron, Inc.); and Hire.com. In each of these companies, he successfully built strong technical teams and provided effective leadership over all aspects of software development, from initial requirements analysis, through architecture and design, implementation, quality assurance, project management, and product deployment.Mr. Painter received a B.S. in Computer Science in 1980, and M.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1982, both from Texas A&M University. |
