Dr. Paul Melot de Beauregard is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater LLP, based in its Munich office. He is member of the German Labor and Employment Group, where his practice covers the entire spectrum of national and international labor and employment law. His special focus is on restructuring, close-downs, transactions and negotiations with works councils Additionally, he also advises on service agreements with board members, managing directors and senior executives as well as on pensions and outsourcing.
Paul studied at the Universities of Munich and Wuerzburg where he received his Dr. jur. in 2001. He obtained an LL.M. (labor law) degree from London School of Economics and Political Science in 2002. He is acknowledged as "Specialised Lawyer in Labor Law" (Fachanwalt für Arbeitsrecht) by the German Bar Association. Paul has published numerous articles in the field of Labor & Employment. Prior to joining McDermott, he worked in the Berlin office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
The main focus of Paul's work lays on advising long-term clients regarding all aspects of labor and employment law. Moreover, he recently advised on the take-over of parts of Securlog GmbH by Goldman Sachs, on the take-over of ebro Electronic Instruments GmbH & Co. KG as well as on the take-over of shares in Global Media GmbH by the financial investor Carlyle.
Paul a member of the Employment Law Group of the German Lawyers' Association, the German Labor Court Association as well as the German-South African Lawyers' Association. He speaks German, English and French.
