Mr. Hobby has served as Chairman of Genesis Park, a Houston-based private equity business specializing in technology and communications investments, since its founding in 2000. In that capacity, he serves as Chief Executive Officer of Alpheus Communications, L.P., a Texas wholesaler of telecommunications services. He also serves as a director of publicly traded companies EGL, Inc. and Stewart Information Services Corporation, and as Chairman of CapRock Services, Inc., the largest satellite communications provider to the global energy business. He is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hobby Media Services, Inc., a private investment vehicle for traditional and new media investments, and the former chairman of Columbine JDS Systems, Inc. He is a former Chief of Staff for Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock and former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas. He is a member of The University of Texas Development Board and a member of the board of trustees, College of Arts & Sciences, University of Virginia. He also serves on the boards of directors and various civic, charitable and professional associations. He holds a BA degree from the University of Virginia and a JD degree from the University of Texas School of Law. |
