Paul W. Currie is executive vice president responsible for Corporate Strategy and Business Development. This includes oversight for developing EDS' corporate strategies and developing growth plans to build the company's business portfolio through related merger and acquisition activities. He reports directly to Chairman and CEO Mike Jordan and serves as a member of EDS' Executive Committee.
Previously, he provided strategic consulting services to EDS for two years. Currie served as managing partner of Currie & Company, a consultancy providing strategic, corporate development, financial and operational advice, and related services primarily to large multinational corporations.
From 2000 to 2003, Currie served as chief executive officer of Symcor, a leading business process outsourcing services provider in Canada. He was responsible for restructuring and building Symcor into a profitable leader in the Canadian information technology industry, and guided the company's business expansion and growth.
He also served as executive vice president for Corporate Development and Mergers and Acquisitions for Newcourt Credit Group, a global provider of leasing and capital asset lending. While at the company, he oversaw the completion of numerous large multinational transactions.
Before Newcourt, Currie spent more than a decade with Coopers & Lybrand, where he served as a partner and advised on high profile projects including the mergers of the payment and billing back offices of three major Canadian financial institutions, the Ontario government's privatization initiative and the restructuring of Olympia and York.
Currie currently serves on the board of directors of CEI Corporation and is on the Dean's Advisory Council for York University Business School.
Currie earned a bachelor of business administration degree from York University in Toronto where he graduated with honors and was the recipient of the FEI Gold Medal. He is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and was honored as an Ontario Institute Silver Medalist and named to the Canadian Institute honor roll.
