Paul Berra is Vice President of Government Affairs and Communications for Solutia Inc.
In this role since 2006, he is responsible for Solutia’s government affairs, public relations, community relations and internal communication programs on a global basis. Paul works in partnership with Solutia’s business units worldwide to meet their business strategies through strategic government affairs and communications programs.
Paul joined Solutia in June 2003 as Assistant General Counsel, Human Resources, and added government affairs responsibilities the following year. His areas of legal practice included labor relations, employment law and litigation.
Prior to joining Solutia, Paul was Corporate Counsel at Premcor Inc., one of the nation's largest independent oil refiners, where he handled all labor, employment and litigation matters and contributed extensively to cost-saving initiatives that included a significant reduction-in-force. He also played an active role in Premcor’s acquisition and integration of the former Williams Company refinery in Memphis, Tenn.
Earlier, Paul practiced law with Lewis, Rice and Fingersh, a large regional general practice law firm, and at a small, boutique firm practicing exclusively in the areas of labor and employment law.
Paul received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and business administration from Webster University and a Juris Doctor degree from the Saint Louis University School of Law. |
