Paul G. Allen has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Charter Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: CHTR) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Charter Investment since purchasing Charter in December 1998.
Co-founder of Microsoft Mr. Allen served as that company’s Executive Vice President of Research and New Product Development overseeing the development of its most successful products. He left Microsoft in 1983 moving on to develop other software applications later forming Vulcan Inc. to create and advance a variety of world-class endeavors and high-impact initiatives that change and improve the way people live learn do business and experience the world.
A private investor for more than 15 years Mr. Allen has interests in more than 100 enterprises and investments. His portfolio includes Vulcan Inc. Clear Blue Sky Productions Digeo the Portland Trail Blazers NBA and Seattle Seahawks NFL franchises The Sporting News and investments in Dreamworks SKG TechTV Vulcan Programming Vulcan Ventures Vulcan Cable III and numerous privately held companies. |
