Paul Brylske Biography :

Mr. Brylske received his B.A. and BSW from the University of Maryland at Baltimore County in 1977. He received his Masters Degree in Social Work at the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1982. He completed an externship at the Child Guidance Clinic in Philadelphia in 1989. Currently, Mr. Brylske is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Clinical in Maryland and a Board Certified Diplomat in Social Work.

Since 1975, Mr. Brylske has worked in various professional capacities with families and their youth who have experienced trauma and developmental disabilities and have been in residential placements, foster care or adopted. He has been a psychotherapist since 1985 and currently has a private practice specializing in working with families with youth who have experienced trauma and developmental disabilities. Since 1991, Mr. Brylske has been instrumental in the development of the Kennedy Krieger Family Center, TFC Program. Currently he is the program’s Director. In addition, he has developed the program’s capacity to provide respite through the implementation of local, state, and federal grants.

Mr. Brylske is a member of the Maryland Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, Chairperson of the Maryland Treatment Foster Care Coalition, Board Member of the Maryland Respite Care Coalition, and was appointed by the Governor as Vice- Chair of the Maryland Caregiver Support Coordinating Council.

Mr. Brylske has held an adjunct faculty position at Smith College School of Social Work and has been a faculty field instructor at Catholic University School of Social Work, and University of Maryland School of Social Work.

Mr. Brylske has presented throughout the United States and Canada on issues related to Treatment Foster Care, adoptions, and respite. This has primarily been in the areas of program implementation, parent training, and program outcomes.
