Paul has served as principal of Downey Capital, an investment banking consultancy that advises privately-owned companies on capital structure, financing, and mergers and acquisitions. From 1978 to 1991, Paul served in several capacities with First Boston and its affiliate, Credit Suisse First Boston, including Managing Director and Executive Director. Following the merger of CSFB and First Boston in 1988, Paul headed the combined firm's West Coast banking activities. Paul was a Partner in White, Weld, & Co. from 1971 to 1978. He is a member of Flynn Ventures LLC and North Bay Angels, private investor groups in the Bay Area. Paul is also a member of the Corporation of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts, and is a Trustee Emeritus and former Chairman of The Keystone Center, a public policy, scientific and educational organization based in Colorado. Paul served for three years as an officer in the U.S. Navy and is a graduate of Yale University. |
