Paul A. Bunn, M.D. is the Director of the University of Colorado Comprehensive Cancer Center and a Grohne-Stapp Endowed Professor of Oncology. Since 1984, Dr. Bunn has been a Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Prior to that, he headed the Cell Kinetic Section of the National Cancer Institute and worked as an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University Medical School, and Associate Professor at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. Dr. Bunn has served as President of the American Association of Cancer Institutes, President of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), Chairman of the FDA Oncology Drug Advisory Committee, and President of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He received a B.A. in Biology from Amherst College and his M.D. from Cornell University Medical Center. He completed his residency at the University of California, San Francisco and his fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Medicine Branch of the National Cancer Institute. His research interests are in the biology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of lung cancer. He has published over 220 articles in peer review journals, 95 reviews, 87 book chapters and edited nine books. He serves on the editorial board of a number of journals. |
